The ageconcerndirectory is a powerful new directory system for support and community care services in the UK. Scheduled for launch in April 2009, it promises to be a cost-effective and user-friendly alternative to existing directory systems for organisations of all sizes. It can be used as a web site in its own right or can be integrated with your existing web site.

The ageconcerndirectory makes it incredibly easy for website visitors to find the information or service they are looking for. Along with postcode and map searches, users can either browse through a list of keywords or can use the advanced type-in search, which automatically recognises many common words and alternative phrases while eliminating many common errors. The results page is clearly presented, and includes links to related searches and relevant documents. It’s intuitive, powerful and accurate.

The ageconcerndirectory is also very easy to update. Thanks to its user-friendly content management system, very little training is required to edit directory listings and web pages. Website visitors can also submit their own entries, with all changes and additions subject to approval by directory administrator.

The ageconcerndirectory is not just an online directory. It also includes the new version of our specialist book compilation software, Directory Publisher, which allows you to generate up-to-date, branded hardcopy directories. The system generates Word or PDF files complete with front cover, chapters, page numbers and index, and these can be printed locally or by a professional printer.

Costs

The ageconcerndirectory will be licensed on a monthly or yearly basis, and the license fee will include upgrades to the latest versions and any new functionality as they become available. Prices will depend on directory size and will also include access to managed national organisations, links to online factsheets, setup, technical support, hosting and daily backups. Alternatively the ageconcerndirectory can be bought as an off the shelf product but will not include any of the free options available in the licensed versions. These will be available at an extra cost.

Due to the nature of our business our aim is to keep the cost to a minimum, we hope to reduce the license fee as more individuals, charities and organisations sign up. Any profits made will be re-invested into further development of the product.
